Truly enjoyed this story, and I wanted to give it 5 stars, but there were some things that didn't quite meet the mark.

Things I liked: The overall story of Landon & Sadie. Both had been betrayed by those they loved, and they were damaged and broken to different degrees over that. They helped each other heal, even while fighting anything more than friendship because of the past betrayals. The family interaction with Sadie & her cousin Lauryn, and Landon & his brothers.

Things I didn't like: Editing. Not just "typo" type editing, but story line continuity. There are a couple times things come up that are somewhat contradictory to what had been said in a previous chapter. Or the same clothing/appearance being described for multiple ppl. These are just things that I, as an editor, would have pointed out to the author & maybe tweaked a little for better story flow. Also, the bad guy was REALLY bad, and some things happened at the end that are likely setting up for the next book(s) in the series, which is fine, but I just don't think the way the almost end played out needed to go in QUITE that direction.

So, all in all, I enjoyed the story if not all of the writing (a lot of the writing was excellent and also enjoyable). I am planning on reading any sequels that are published because I'm interested in how things will go for those characters. I'd call that a win, right? : )

Safe Conquering Book 1 edition by Ryan Michele Madison Seidler Romance eBooks Reviews

This book was good. I liked the flow of the book.

My main complaints were grammatical/spelling errors and the crying was a bit excessive....

3.5 stars and yes I would recommend this book.

I'm actually hoping Lauryns story is next in this series as this book does not have a cliffhanger and does have a hea.
The storyline was great. Landon was the perfect knight in shining armor. I didn't like how secretive Sadie was, she did seem to bring a lot of the crap on herself, but I can't imagine that type of abuse so I assume it may be typical of a battered woman. Rob didn't get nearly what he deserved in this story. And Landon was amazing, mostly because of the fact that Sadie would blow up for seemingly no reason and he never just categorized her as insane. I definitely would have. This book is worth the money because it keeps your full attention from the first page to the last. I wanted it to just never end.
Thankfully, I have never encountered abuse like the leading lady has. Sadie decides or as I see it coerced rightfully so to visit her aunt and uncle in Georgia. She is looking for a brand new start. Enter Landon. One of three brothers who sees Sadie and slowly begins to fall for our sweet leading lady.

I love how they start off slowly as friends but always knowing there is so much more to come. Landon has some baggage himself and they have to work through it all the while having to work through Sadie's without knowing quite what he is dealing with.

Loved the twists and small turns near the end of this story. Landon is truly a great guy. No cliffhanger thank goodness. We do get a HEA.
This book is a MUST READ for every man and woman! It is a true glimpse into the life of a Battered Woman! It is so easy to sit back and judge when you have not been through it or lived it. Ryan Michele really captured the truth in this book... the reason a woman stays, the guilt for being in the situation in the first place, not knowing who to trust, the PTSD that claims the victim, and the sense of worthlessness! It is a dark place to be and it takes incredible strength to leave! (For the ones that are lucky enough to do so). This book is the real deal, an insight to the thoughts of a wounded soul, reading it felt almost like ready a diary of a Battered Woman! It's real, it's raw, it's personal but so worth it!
I am not only honored to be part of the blog tour for this book, I was also given the privilege to be a beta reader for this author. I have given her the title Queen of OMG Shocker Endings. She literally had me gasping at the end of the book with the final twist.

Sadie had my heart at page one, dealing with her mother telling her it was time to leave after another brutal attack from her fiance. Sadie knew her mother was right, but she also knew she had to stay and protect those few people she loved from the threats of her fiance. Thank goodness the mom won and Sadie packed up and left to go live with her aunt and uncle and start a new life in secrecy.
Sadie's cousin was fun to watch as she decided to build on to the house she was now sharing with Sadie. In comes Landon, construction guy who was a HUNK and so lovable. He had his own baggage to deal with and knew that his attraction to Sadie was bad news. Trying to recover from the betrayal of a former lover, he didn't intend to let any other woman get close to his heart, but there was something about Sadie he couldn't deny.

Sadie was so confused, how could she have that tingle for Landon when she had just been attacked by a man she thought she could trust? No she wasn't going to trust those feelings, she was convinced she lacked the skills to judge someone's character and trust again. She was left to figure out these feelings alone, no one could know about her past. No one would believe her anyway if she tried to explain her fears......her fiance was a cop.
This was an exciting read, to watch the two of them meet, to see them struggle with their own fears and issues from the past. As they moved forward and you could see the trust begin to build and the love grow......then the author hits you with a twist that is so out of this world, it takes you a while to absorb what you just read. I was at my computer emailing her right away asking "how did you come up with that? You are amazing."

The book is about love, trust, starting over and learning to believe in yourself again. She captures your heart in the beginning and you want to read as fast as you can so you can watch good win over evil. Watching Sadie deal with the flashbacks of her abuse and knowing she must keep going forward in silence so she can protect those she loves is heart breaking. Watching Landon want to try to help Sadie but being shut out and afraid to open his heart was gut wrenching. But oh the victory at the end was worth every tear shed during the book.

I am so proud of this author for the hard work she put into this book to bring attention to the subject of domestic abuse and to remind us of our dreams. The good guys may finish last, but I think Ryan Michele proves to us in this book, the good guys end with the best prize. LOVE...........Some things are worth the wait.
